「透視川普：他如何改變美國、臺灣與世界」學術座談會

摘要：

川普重返白宮後，不僅重新塑造美國政治，也持續改變臺灣所處的國際環境。對臺灣民眾而言，最直接的問題是：當臺海發生危機時，川普會保衛臺灣嗎？在與中國進行經貿或戰略談判時，他是否可能將臺灣視為交易籌碼？而他所強調的「美國優先」，究竟代表美國將退出世界，還是改以更具選擇性與交易性的方式處理盟友與國際事務？

理解川普，不能只看他的外交政策。我們還需要追問，面對高度爭議與持續分裂的美國社會，為什麼仍有大量選民支持他？他的移民、文化與族群政策，又正在將美國帶往什麼方向？

本次活動邀請相關領域學者，從美國政治、臺美關係、美中競爭與國際秩序等角度出發，深入解析川普的政治邏輯、支持基礎與政策影響，協助公眾理解川普如何改變美國、影響臺灣，並重新塑造世界。

"Decoding Trump: How He Is Changing America, Taiwan, and the World"

Abstract:

Since returning to the White House, Donald Trump has not only reshaped American politics but has also continued to transform the international environment in which Taiwan operates. For the Taiwanese public, the most immediate questions are these. Would Trump defend Taiwan in a cross-Strait crisis? Might he treat Taiwan as a bargaining chip in economic or strategic negotiations with Beijing? And does his emphasis on “America First” mean that the United States is retreating from the world, or that it will instead handle allies and international affairs in a more selective and transactional manner?

Understanding Trump, however, requires looking beyond foreign policy. We also need to ask why so many voters continue to support him in an American society marked by deep controversy and persistent division, and where his policies on immigration, culture, and ethnicity are taking the country.

This event brings together scholars from the relevant fields to analyze Trump's political logic, his base of support, and the consequences of his policies, approaching these questions from the perspectives of American politics, Taiwan-US relations, US-China competition, and international order. The aim is to help the public understand how Trump is changing America, affecting Taiwan, and reshaping the world.
